Why Networking Events WORK
Let’s dive into NETWORKING EVENTS — they’re seriously one of my favorite things! I can’t stress enough how much I LOVE live networking events. Like... I’m all in.
Here’s the thing: when you network locally, there’s WAY less competition. I’m telling you, some of the people I meet at these events have NEVER even heard of a virtual assistant! It’s honestly a goldmine waiting to be explored.
But honestly, the best part about local networking events is how they make your VA business feel so tangible. We live in a digital world, right? But there’s something about stepping into a room, meeting someone face-to-face, shaking their hand, and saying, “Hi! I’m Abbey, and I own a virtual assistant company,” that makes everything real in the best way.
It’s empowering. It reminds you that you’re building something important.
And yes, even an introvert can do it! You don't have to be the life of the party, you just need to have a couple conversations with the right people (who are looking for the kind of help you offer) to get the ball rolling.
If you’ve been putting off going to a live networking event, I have to ask: what’s holding you back? Sometimes it’s just about showing up and introducing yourself, and you might be surprised at the conversations that follow.
